Validates Security for Sensitive Data with Security Analyzer

Xbridge Security Analyzer is a feature of DataSniff and is data security analysis and validation software that helps prevent data loss on IBM® z Systems® mainframes. The software reviews lists of data sets containing sensitive data, displays and validates current security settings, and recommends changes to inappropriate settings to prevent unauthorized access to data. The reports Security Analyzer produces help security administrators or data owners ensure proper security settings are in place, and can be presented to auditors or management to prove sensitive data is protected.

Frequently asked questions about Security Analyzer (DataSniff Feature)

Xbridge Security Analyzer™ is a feature of DataSniff and is data security analysis and validation software for IBM z Systems mainframes that helps prevent unauthorized access to data. The software feature allows security administrators or data owners to easily verify and remediate security settings for sensitive data and prove to auditors and management that critical data is protected.

The Security Analyzer feature reviews lists of data sets containing sensitive data, displays and validates current security settings, and recommends changes if settings are inappropriate. The software produces reports with information about security settings, file access and logging history, and guidance for remediating and strengthening security settings.

Once security settings are remediated, enterprises can re-analyze access controls prepare a baseline compliance report that Security Analyzer uses for comparison over time. The software can report on baseline variances and identify data sets that are candidates for remediation, encryption or deletion.

The Security Analyzer feature generates five different reports that provide information about security profiles associated with sensitive data sets and recommendations for remediating weak profiles, RACF groups names on data set access lists, user IDs and category names associated with data set access lists and compliant with a baseline, discrepancies between profiles and a baseline, and user IDs in compliance or at variance with a baseline.

Security Analyzer feature of DataSniff currently works with IBM® RACF®.
